The backyard is getting out of hand!!! This is going to be one of the coolest projects we have ever taken on. After building a completely custom natural stone retaining wall, we begin to do some landscaping on the higher terrain. Our goal is to make this house absolutely stunning all the way around. We are moving right along and cant wait to show you how it turns out! Thanks For Watching!!!

Its amazing that these young men have built a channel that started with rebuilding cars and now continues to entertain with a home improvement direction. They deserve a lot of praise for creating a brand and entertaining subscribers. I will be very interested to see where this journey goes next!! Thank you "son"!!!!

I think that it would be a good idea if you had a weeping drain . You need to use plants to divert the water coming down the mountain away from the concrete pour for the driveway you don't want the hillside running down with mud up and over the rocks and into the driveway maybe you could use some bamboo along a walkway. Plants and some exterior lighting and speakers you could even run some propane or tiki torches along the backside very nice

Need lots of shade and lots of moisture for moss. A water feature will almost ensure proper conditions. And English ivy is good ground cover for shady areas.

Why dont u ppl make the house a bit bigger. Take some time to think about it. You guys have 15 acres of land so u know what i mean like thats a lotta land... make it a bit modern with the backyard as in like behind the stones, add some lights, waterfalls and etc etc. Btw u guys are really successful.

4 місяці tagasimartin brimble
Could double use the garden steps as a waterfall, obvs need to put membrane down under, You’ll also need a collection point at the bottom to pump back up to the top..! But only if you don’t have erosion problems, in this case I’d say stay away from any water features.

It's way cheaper to buy untagged soil verses bagged soil. Buy it by the truck load next time. Just letting you know.
4 місяці tagasibobbycone2
Aside from the plants along the steps you should randomally place them all over. Stagger the different plants mixed all over the hill so the steps are the only spot that has uniformity to it. It will let's the steps stand out and leave the rest sort of abstract looking like the rock wall is.
4 місяці tagasibobbycone2
Those rocks all being the same height is not surprising at all. They all formed together over the years in the same area so they would have formed all at the same time with the environment doing the same thing all around them so if one rock split because of the way the environment was at the time of that layer being formed then all of them would have the same thing going on.

Solar lights would look awesome 👌 also I used to be in landscaping on the side of a hill like that you can put a small amount of mulch down to help with your soil if you want but after you put just a thin layer down spray the plants and mulch with miracle grow and then cover them with pine straw the pine straw want wash away like mulch and as long as you don't get a really big rain for about 2 weeks the mulch will settle in up under it

Forget about the aesthetics on the back hill, guys. You need to concentrate on real drainage and rainwater control in front and on top. Under cut that hill too much and one big southern rainstorm will put all of your hard work in your garage. Remnants of hurricanes too. too pretty too soon.

The HVAC system you described that uses water to wet filters air is pulled through and pumped into the house is called a swap cooler. I prefer swamp coolers over central air for cooling, but you can't control the temp inside the house like you can central air. A swap cooler has 3 speeds: high, low, and off. You control the speed by manually switching them. Swap coolers also pressurize the inside of the house, so a window that's not closed completely will whistle, and exterior hinged doors that open to the inside will be slammed closed if you don't control them. Swamp coolers are typically found out west on the roofs of many homes.

Do not plant Palm trees as they require a lot of attention to keep trimmed and free of seed pods. The seed pods can get to be 80 + pounds and can fall and do harm.

Mulch lock locks mulch or soil In place. It’s a glue but is pet safe and stuff. It’ll help a lot for containing the stuff on the hill

You need drainage behind the retaining wall guys.
4 місяці tagasiCameron Stoddard
You guys need a landscape design company to help you. Firstly that wall is not a retaining wall it's decorative and will do noting to hold back that slope. Secondly you guys should have put drainage lines in behind the wall not in front. Then you'll want drainage under the deck and well everywhere. I bought a house with lots of hardscape in the back yard and not one drainage line. Literally becomes a giant pool when it rains.

Hey goonz the house is looking great! I love seeing the transformations as i enjoys doing similar things. A few notes... I used to do concrete and I have a few recommendations if you don't mind. First would be" curtian drain" installed if not already around the house. Its like a rock pit around the house for the gutters to drain into. You could also do a linear drainage channel. At the bottom of the wall. You put it in before concrete a pour up to it. I'd recommend a "natual rock look " with "stamped concrete" for a boarder comimg towards the house an add the linear drainage channel. Somewhere there. Then On the edge of that pour your slab for under the Stargazer 3000. I think that would do well to keep water from coming off the hill towards the house. Feel free to hmu. Hvac knowledge as well Lastly id recommended a thickened edge on the well house closest to the road.
